Don’t overlook this benefit since if you eat food at home by cooking by yourself, you can save a lot of money because if you eat at the restaurant, they will charge you the service and of course making the profit from the food as well.

So if you start eating from home right now, you will save a lot more. Cook food by yourself is not that difficult , also you can ensure that the food is clean with nothing disgusting from the chef or the waiters like dirty hand or dirty hair in your dishes.

Here are quick tips:

• Look for a company that offers cable TV, Internet and land phone service. This way you would only have to pay for a single bill and it would relatively cost you less.
• CFL (compact fluorescent light) bulbs can save you big on electricity. They use 75% les energy than the usual incandescent bulbs.
• You can cut down on your phone bills if you considering using VOIP phone service.
• Pull out power plugs when an appliance is not in use. Most appliances on standby mode would still eat up electricity even when you turn them off.
If you have your savings money on hand, you would easily be tempted to use it and buy the things that you want. But if you have it deposited in your bank, you would have to think twice before withdrawing your savings. Have a separate savings account apart from your checking account. You can ask your banker to set up automatic transfer of a certain amount from your checking account to your savings account. You can even ask your employer to automatically deduct your savings from your salary and transfer it directly to your savings account.
Short-term goals would include buying yourself a new laptop or a high-end PDA phone. Long-term goal would be something you want for you and your family on your retirement. Jot down your goals on paper and focus on them. Next, you need to create a timeframe for your goals. This would let you realize if your goals are attainable or not. Do the math and calculate how much you need to save per week to be able to reach your goal within a certain timeframe. You need to keep a record of your expenses and from this list, you can see what things you can cut down on to be able to save you a few hundred dollars per month.

Frugal living is to live within your means. You should not buy something that you cannot afford. Even if you have the cash to buy a new fancy car, it doesn’t mean that you can afford it. Yes, you can pay for it, but can you really afford it, or do you need to skip three months on your mortgage payment to be able to purchase the car? Thinking ahead is a basic skill if you want to save big for you and your family. Buy the things that you need and do not spend a single cent on things that you want to have just to impress people that you don’t even know. Who cares if you are driving a fancy car? Envious glares and praises don’t convert to cash.
Both women and men are guilty of compulsive shopping and spending money on unnecessary things. If you are to shop for pleasure, do so with cash, not with credit cards. When shopping ask yourself “do I need this?” and “can I afford this?” Try as you can- not to spend on signature clothing and branded items. With enough effort, you can surely find an item that is inexpensive that are made with high taste and quality.

If you are finding yourself short of cash by the time your next pay comes in, the fastest and often easiest way to improve your situation is to ask your employer for a pay rise.

To assist you in your quest for more money, it will pay (excuse the pun) to do a little homework before talking to your boss. Here are a few things to get you started:

Gather market data – what are other businesses paying for your position

List all new skills and/or educational courses since your last pay review

List any new responsibilities that you have taken on – these are important!

Write a brief but accurate sales pitch on why you deserve more money

Be confident, open & honest – do not make threats it will not help your cause

Remember that the worst thing that can happen is that your boss simply says no, but chances are that if they see that you know what you are talking about, they may well agree to a modest increase in your salary/wage.

Of course, if your boss doesn’t come to the party and ou feel you could earn more elsewhere, then by all means apply for other positions and see what you are worth on the open market, you might be surprised!

Here is a very simple principle that can be put in to practice quickly and easily, and almost anyone can do it.

Each week day, simply put aside $2, and at the end of each week, put this $10 against the debt that has the highest interest rate (usually your credit card or store card). At this rate, you’ll be paying an extra $520 per year against this debt on top of your regular repayments. Even better, you’ll have saved an additional $63.83 in interest.

If you don’t have $2 per day to put aside, take a look at your daily spending habits and maybe go without a newspaper or coffee each day.

Making a commitment to this simple plan will set you up for long term success as the saving will become habitual. Once you have mastered the $2 per day principle, move on to $3 per day for the next year!
